Action Hub

Action Hub provides monitor services in IBM Process Mining. They help you monitor a business process using custom criteria and scheduled monitors and notifications. You can create the monitors by setting up the process criteria that can give insights to the changes in the process Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), activity KPIs, analytic widgets, process activities, and transitions.

On the Action Hub page, you can schedule time, days, and frequency of the monitors to receive notifications of the monitor criteria at a planned time on the selected days and at preferred frequency. In addition, monitors operates seamlessly with any third-party applications using APIs to receive the scheduled notifications.

For more information on using the Action Hub page, see the following links:

You can use the following topics to view some examples on how to configure a monitor for various applications:

Benefits of monitors

Following are the benefits of using a monitor:

  • You can set a monitor to automatically check the status of a project.
  • You can use the monitors to create alerts, through the desired service, whenever a deviation occurs in the project.
  • You can capture data and create a historical report on the monitored project.

Types of monitors

You must define each monitor type with basic information such as the organization, project, name of the monitor, description, and execution time of the report. Based on the monitor type, you must include data specific to that monitor.

IBM Process Mining provides the following types of monitors:

  • Process KPIs monitor
Use a Process KPI monitor to create alerts when a KPI defined in the monitored project exceeds the defined threshold value. You must set the threshold value and the KPI value when you create a Process KPI monitor. For more information on creating a Process KPI monitor, see Setting a monitor for Process KPI.

  • Activity KPI monitor
Use an Activity KPI monitor to create alerts when a KPI defined in the monitored activity exceeds the defined threshold value. You must set the threshold value and the KPI value when you create an Activity KPI monitor. For more information on creating an Activity KPI monitor, see Setting a monitor for Activity KPI.

  • Analytics Widget monitor
Use an Analytics Widget monitor to post the values of a dashboard widget and to send results when there is a deviation in the defined value. The alerts created by the Analytics Widget monitor includes records and data columns from the defined widgets. For more information on creating Analytics Widget monitor see Setting a monitor for Analytics widgets.

  • Activity monitor
Use an Activity monitor to create alerts when a specific activity is triggered within the project which includes results from the activity. For more information on creating an Activity monitor, see Setting a monitor for Activities.

  • Transition monitor
Use Transition monitor to create alerts when a specific activity transition occurs within the project. The result of this monitor type includes the transition start and end points as well as the results from the transition in the data. For more information on creating Transition monitor, see Setting a monitor for Transitions.
