Building investigative reports
You can use Prescriptive Process Mining to investigate processes and build reports for any project that is either created by you or shared with you in IBM Process Mining.
Prerequisites
-
To build, modify, or delete an investigative report, your user account must have the following permissions:
PPM Report Config
PPM Report Delete
For more details about authorizations, see Authorizations.
-
To build an investigative report, you must have at least one end activity configured in the process. For more information about end activities, see the End activities topic.
-
To build an investigative report, you must ensure your process meets the minimum case count. For more information, see Configuring reports.
-
To build an investigative report, you must ensure that the process mining is not currently in progress for a project. You must wait until the mining is complete to start the report building. If you start process mining for a project which is currently under report generation, the report generation is paused until the mining is complete.
Bulding investigative reports
To build an investigative report for a project, complete the following steps:
- From the home page, go to All projects and open the project you want to analyze.
- From the navigation pane, select the magnifying glass icon.
- In the Investigative report page, click Build report.
- In the Build report window, enter the name of the report.
- Click Build.
The report starts to build as the project is investigated. This might take some time to finish. When an investigative report is ready, it opens automatically.
To learn more about investigative reports and learn how to interpret the reports, see Interpreting the reports.
Rebuilding investigative reports
When you add or modify any parameter in your project, you must rebuild the report in Prescriptive Process Mining to get the latest results. Prescriptive Process Mining also notifies you when a report rebuild is required.
- From the home page, go to All projects and open the project whose report you want to rebuild.
- From the navigation pane, select the magnifying glass icon.
- In the Investigative report page, click Rebuild report.
- In the Rebuild report window, enter the name of the new report.
- Click Build.
Before rebuilding a report, you can choose the KPIs to include in the report. To do that, complete the following steps:
- Go to the KPI section of the Investigative report page.
- Find the KPI you want to include or exclude in the default KPIs or custom KPIs sections.
- Complete one of the following steps:
- To include a KPI in the report, set toggle corresponding to the required KPI to on.
- To exclude a KPI, set the toggle to off.
- Rebuild the report.
