Managing user groups
Groups in IBM Process Mining help you to manage users and assign permissions to them. You can assign a set of permissions for each group depending on your requirements. You can add a user to a specific group by clicking Add to group. The user gets all the permissions that are granted to the group.
Group types
The Administration page comes with a default set of groups that can be managed according to your requirements.

Group name | Description |

Administrators | Administrators can add, edit, and delete users and groups. Administrators can also grant permissions to other users. |
Analyst Users | Analyst users can create, own, and modify projects in IBM Process Mining. They can also create and modify IBM Task Mining projects. |
Business Users | Business users have read access to the projects in IBM Process Mining and its components such as statistics, analytics, and BPMN. The business users cannot create or modify projects. This group is automatically assigned to all users when they are created. |
MultiTenantAdministrators | Multitenant administrators have multitenant access and possess all privileges of tenant administrators. In addition, they can also create tenants and multitenant administrators. |
TutorialAdmin | Tutorial administrators can create projects in IBM Process Mining tutorial organizations. By default, the Tutorial organization is present with all the tutorial projects. |
TutorialUser | Tutorial users can view the projects in the tutorial organization. This group is automatically assigned to all users when they are created. |
Creating groups
You can add more groups to further customize the permissions for users.
To add new groups, do the following steps:
- In the List of groups page, select the required tenant from the Tenant drop-down list and then click Add.
- Enter a name for the new group.
- Select a group from the Clone permissions from list to copy the permissions of that group to the new group.
Managing groups
To edit a group, click the group from the list. When you open a group, the Details tab opens by default.
You can delete a group by clicking the delete icon.
Details
This tab shows the name of the group and its basic details. To edit the name of the group, click Edit and enter the new name.
Members
Displays the list of users that belong to this group. You can add and remove users from the group or see the user’s details by clicking their name.
