Statistics
The Statistics analyze the data and gives a summary of the process.
The activities that are shown in the Statistics depend on the filter settings in the Model tab.
Use the following links to learn more about the Statistics tab:
Process overview
The Process overview section gives an overview of the performance, conformance, and case lead time.
Performance
The Performance dashboard in the Process overview section gives a succinct view of the case count and arrival rate of cases in a process.
Performance | |
---|---|
Case count | Number of cases in the current process. |
Arrival rate | Number of cases per day. |
Conformance
This section is currently not availabe in IBM Process Mining NextGen.
The Conformance dashboard allows you to compare Data-derived model and the Reference model to analyze the similarities and the differences between the models. A case is called conformant when every activity is compliant to the reference model. For more information, see Model.
Fitness quantifies the extent to which the Data-derived model can accurately reproduce the activities in the Reference model.
The fitness values vary based on the value for activity and relation complexity in the Model tab. {: important}
Conformance | |
---|---|
Similarity | It is the percentage of similarity between Data-derived model with the Reference model. For example, value 100% means that the models are 100% compliant whereas 0% means that the models are different. |
Maximum fitness | The percentage of cases with maximum fitness values when compared to the Data-derived model. |
Average fitness | The percentage of cases with average fitness values (sum of fitness values for all the cases divided by total number of cases) when compared to the Data-derived model. |
Minimum fitness | The percentage of cases with minimum fitness values when compared to the Data-derived model. |
Case lead time
Case lead time is the throughput time of a case.
Case lead time | |
---|---|
Average | The sum of total amount of time taken by each case from start to finish divided by number of cases. |
Median | Median value of all the case lead times. |
Minimum | Minimum amount of time taken by a case to complete a process. |
Maximum | Maximum amount of time taken by a case to complete a process. |
Standard deviation | Standard deviation shows that how much the case lead times are varied or deviated from the average case lead time. |
Custom metrics statistics
Custom metrics statistics include the following detail per the data type:
-
Boolean
The statistics include the details of the distribution of
True
andFalse
in percentages. -
Numeric
The statistics include the details of minimum, maximum, median, mean, standard deviation and sum of the values of the custom metric.
-
Date
The statistics include the minimum date and maximum date along with the time.
-
String
The statistics include the frequency of cases that gives the string values in the custom metric
result
.
Activity Duration
The activity duration can be presented based on the Performance, KPI, or Working time. The list of activities can be sorted alphabetically, or by execution.
You can also choose to display the values based on Average or Median in the graph.
The selection applies to the entire Statistics tab.
- Wait time: The amount of time an activity waits for prior activities to complete.
- Service time: The time taken to complete an
activity.
- Frequency: The number of times each activity is performed.
Performance
From this graph, you can derive the Average/Median wait time, Average/Median service time, and Frequency of the activities based on the timespan.
KPI
Use the KPI view to compare the performance of the activities with KPIs in an aggregated and normalized view, based on previously defined KPI settings.
Edit activity KPI
You can use the Edit activity KPIs button to change the KPI for a specific activity.
For example, in the preceding image, Resource allocation thresholds percentage is changed for the activity, Authorization Requested. The change reflects in the following graph:
Working time
You can use the Working time graph to derive the activity working time values based on Average/Automatic, Average/Manual, and Frequency of the activities based on the timespan.
Critical overview
The critical overview section gives an insight on the critical activities and critical resources based on Performance or KPI.
Critical activities: The activities with high frequency, and it is displayed along with its minimum and maximum activity throughput.
Critical resources: The resources who are most frequently involved with critical activities, and it is displayed along with the number of instances that are performed by the resource.
Timespan view options
The Timespan allows you to choose a period to focus your analysis on. This value applies to the Case duration and count, Activity overview, and Resource overview.
Use the Reset timespan button to refresh the dates.
Case duration and count
This line graph indicates the following data:
-
Violet line: Number of cases that are running on the selected date.
-
Blue line: Average/median remaining lead time of cases that are running on the selected date.
Activity overview
This chart gives an overview of activity duration and count, activity waiting queue, and activity load for the selected activity.
Activity duration and count
This line graph indicates the following data:
-
Violet line: Average/median remaining service time, based on the cases running on the activity in the selected date.
-
Blue line: Number of activities running in the selected date.
For example, if a single event is considered, the purple line decreases from the start to the end of the activity, as it represents the remaining service time.
Activity waiting queue
This line graph indicates the following data:
-
Violet line: Average/median remaining waiting time, based on the cases waiting for the activity in the selected date.
-
Blue line: Number of cases that are waiting for the activity in the selected date.
Activity load
Every resource who has worked on the selected activity (activity, which is selected from the Displaying activity drop-down) is shown in the Activity load chart.
The dots on the chart capture the exact time (relative to the timespan) in which a specific activity was performed by the resource. The color of the dots varies according to the number of activity instances.
The swimlane shows two values:
- Total activity instances: Total activity instances carried out by the resource at a specific timestamp.
- Activity instances: Total instances of the selected activity performed by the resource at the selected timestamp.
Resource overview
The Resource overview dashboard displays the workload of every resource.
Selecting a resource from the Displaying resource drop-down, shows a chart with all the activities performed by the resource.
The dots on the chart capture the exact time (relative to the timespan) in which a specific activity was performed by the resource. The color of the dots varies according to the number of activity instances.
The swimlane shows two values:
- Total resource instances: Total instances of the specific activity (activity to which you are pointing to) performed by all the resources.
- Resource instances: Total instances of the specific activity performed by the selected resource.
The timestamp in the swimlane redirects you to the Model tab.
