General settings of a process-mining project
You can use the General section of the Manage page to set the custom settings on a specific process-mining project.
The General section includes the following categories:
- Computation hours
You can use Computation hours to customize the computation hours for the project. For more information, see Editing computation hours. - Automation attributes
You can use Automation attributes to set the automation attributes for the process-mining project in IBM Process Mining. You must set these attributes if your project includes activities that are derived from IBM Task Mining. For more information, see Editing automation attributes. - Custom fields
You can use Custom fields to select the fields that you must exclude from compliance analysis, root-cause analysis, and influencers. For more information, see Editing custom fields. - Project defaults
You can use Project defaults to set the default values for the process-mining project. For more information, see Editing project defaults.
If the selected process-mining project is a snapshot or a shared project, you can use the Load Values link to restore the values of the main project and reset the local modifications in the selected or shared project.
Editing computation hours
Use the following steps to edit computation hours:
-
In the General section of the Manage page, click Edit computation hours.
-
In the Edit computation hours dialog box, do the following steps:
a. Set Compute duration using business hours to On if the IBM Process Mining application must compute the duration (service and waiting time of the process-mining project) by using only the defined business hours. You can set Compute duration using business hours to Off if you want the application to compute the duration irrespective of a defined business hour.
b. If Compute duration using business hours is set to On, then you must define the following settings:
-
Set Exclude weekends to On if the application must exclude Saturdays and Sundays when it computes service and waiting time. Set Exclude weekends to Off if the application must include Saturdays and Sundays when it computes the service and waiting time.
-
In the Business hours field, enter the specific time range that the application must consider as business hours, instead of the default 24 hours.
In the Business hours field, you must enter the business hour time ranges as hh-hh in a 24-hour time format, separated by a comma. For example, business hours 9.00 AM to 1.00 PM and 2.00 PM to 6.00 PM must be indicated as 9-13, 14-18.
c. Click Create new calender to build and manage calenders for the process-mining project
d. Click Save to save the settings. -
Editing automation attributes
Use the following steps to edit the automation attributes:
-
In the General section of the Manage page, click Edit automation attributes.
-
In the Edit automation attributes dialog box, update the information based on the following description:
a. In the Automated activity attribute box, select the attribute that describes the automatic events from the manual events.
b. In the Automated field truth-value box, define the value of the Automated activity attribute box that identifies the automatic events.
c. In the Excluded fields box, select the fields that you want to exclude from the compliance analysis, root-cause analysis, and influencers.- You can set or edit the automation attributes only if the selected process-mining project includes activities that are derived from IBM Task Mining.
- When you edit the automation attributes of a shared project in IBM Process Mining, you can load the automation attributes values of the parent project by clicking the Load Values link.
- The visible statistics are for attributes with a cardinality smaller than the threshold. You can set this threshold in Attributes management page in the Manage tab.
To see all values of the attribute, select the attribute from the list and click Compute statistics. You receive a notification after calculations are complete.
- You can set or edit the automation attributes only if the selected process-mining project includes activities that are derived from IBM Task Mining.
Editing custom fields
Use the following steps to edit the custom fields:
- In the General section of the Manage page, click Edit custom fields.
- In the Excluded fields box of the Edit custom fields dialog box, select the fields that you want to exclude from attribute analysis, and then click Save.
- The list of excluded custom fields are displayed in the Custom fields section.
Editing project defaults
You can use the following steps to edit the project defaults:
-
In the General section of the Manage page, click Edit project defaults.
-
In the Edit project defaults dialog box, do the following steps:
a. In the Time zone offset box, type a value that represents dates by using the chosen time-zone offset.
b. From the Project default page list, select one of the following options:- Model
When selected, IBM Process Mining directs you to the process visualization in the Model page whenever a process-mining project is selected. - Analytics
When selected, IBM Process Mining directs you to the Analytics page of the process-mining project.
c. Set Display reference activities to On or Off.
d. Set Keep defined roles to On or Off.
e. In the Default metric list, select the default duration metric as average or median.
f. In the Project currency list, select the currency of the project.
g. Set the Enable running time slider to On or Off.
h. Click Save
- Model
When you edit:
- By setting a time-zone offset, you introduce an offset that impacts all the date-times in the event log. However, note that the duration measures remain the same.
- When the slider, Display reference activities,
is set to On, IBM Process Mining does not hide the reference model activities, even when the activity complexity is set to 1%.
- When Keep defined roles is set to On,
IBM Process Mining maintains any role-resource manual assignments that are made on the Social Network whenever you upload a new data source for the process-mining project.
- When you change the currency in the Project currency list, it changes only the currency symbol and not the value itself.
- When you set the Enable running time slider to On, the Refresh button on the Model page is enabled
whenever you select the Running Cases filter for a process-mining project.
