Managing the monitor events

Viewing the details of a monitor

Use the following steps to view the details on a monitor:

1. On the Monitor page, click the required monitor tab.
2. On the view, expand the required monitor to view the monitor settings.

You can also use the Monitors tab on the Processes dashboard to view the required monitor.

Activating and deactivating a monitor

When you are creating a monitor event, you can choose to activate or deactivate the event. In IBM Process Mining, you can change the state of a monitor whenever required.

Use the following steps to activate and deactivate a monitor:

1. On the Monitor page, click the required monitor tab.

2. On the selected monitor event, do one of the following steps:

   • Set the monitor to Active to activate the monitor.
   • Set the monitor to Inactive to deactivate the monitor.

   

Editing a monitor event

Before you edit the settings of a monitor, you must ensure that the monitor is deactivated.

Use the following steps to edit a monitor event:

1. On the Monitor page, click the required monitor tab and then set the status of the monitor to Inactive.

2. On the monitor, click the more options button (), and then click Edit.

   

3. In the Edit monitor dialog, update the required settings, and then click Save.

Duplicating a monitor event

Use the following steps to duplicate a monitor event:

1. On the Monitor page, click the required monitor tab.
2. On the monitor, click the more options button (), and then click Duplicate.

Deleting a monitor event

Use the following steps to delete a monitor event:

1. On the Monitor page, click the required monitor tab.
2. On the monitor, click the more options button (), and then click Delete.

You can delete a monitor event only if you are the owner of the event.

Running a monitor at the required timeframe

In IBM Process Mining, you can run an active monitor at any time irrespective of the timeframe you have defined.

Use the following steps to run a monitor event:

1. On the Monitor page, click the required monitor tab.
2. Ensure that the selected monitor is Active. If not, set the status of the monitor to Active.
3. Click the more options button (), and then click Run.

Analyzing the result of the monitor

Use the following steps to view the results of a monitor event:

1. On the Monitor page, click the required monitor tab.
2. On the monitor event, click View History.

The result window provides the following information:

• The highest, the lowest, and the average values.
• A graphical presentation of the deviations observed.

You can use the download button () to download the results of the monitoring event as a .json file.

Creating a backup of the monitor

You can use the Backup & History menu on the Manage tab to create a backup of the metadata in a monitor event.
