Prescriptive Process Mining

Prescriptive Process Mining offers a set of digital subject matter expert capabilities that you can use to analyze your processes and extract actionable insights, supported by statistical data. Prescriptive Process Mining uses intelligent algorithms to investigate and generate reports on the process mining projects that you already created in IBM Process Mining.

Prescriptive Process Mining analyzes the performance of your process, compares it with the KPI benchmarks, and conducts a root cause analysis if any nonconformance is detected. Using the results from this analysis, Prescriptive Process Mining also provides you with a set of recommended actions to mitigate the risks of nonconformance and performance deviations.

Prescriptive Process Mining also estimates the impact of reducing the deviating activities in your process and includes the information in the investigative report for you.

To create an investigative report using Prescriptive Process Mining and derive insights about the process, you must complete the following steps:

  1. Access Prescriptive Process Mining
  2. Create investigative report
    1. Configure the report
    2. Schedule the reports
  3. Interpret the report
    1. Check the conformance of KPIs
    2. Analyze root causes
    3. Explore recommended actions
    4. Assess the benefits
    5. Focus the investigation

Clues in Prescriptive Process Mining

Prescriptive Process Mining uses clues that are available in the projects to investigate processes and generate reports. Clues include the default and custom KPIs, reference models, and additional mapped data that you configure in processes. The accuracy of the insights in the report depends on the clues available in the project. When a project has a higher number of clues, the accuracy of insights that are generated from that project is also high.
