Configuring dashboards

For each process loaded in IBM Process Mining, an Analytics Project overview dashboard is automatically generated for you.

The Project overview dashboard always contains the following widgets as default:

  • Process cases
  • Case details
  • Case variants
  • Process model
  • Average lead time
  • Lead time influencers
  • Dashboard information
  • KPI summary

Advanced analytics dashboard example

From the Workspace Workspace icon menu, you can perform the following actions:

  • Modify the Dashboard information, such as the name of the dashboard and its privacy settings
  • Set the dashboard as default, which means that the current dashboard opens when you open analytics of the process
  • Create a custom dashboard
  • Create a copy of the current dashboard to use it as a template for a custom dashboard
  • Save the dashboard as a document
  • Save the dashboard as a presentation
  • Import a dashboard
  • Export the dashboard
  • Delete the dashboard (it cannot be done for Process overview)

Creating dashboards

In addition to the default Project Overview dashboard, you can create new dashboards with your customized set of widgets in Analytics.

To create dashboards, do the following steps:

  1. Click the Workspace Workspace and select Create new.

  2. In the Choose a dashboard name dialog box, enter a name for the dashboard.

  3. (Optional) Choose a template dashboard.

    IBM Process Mining offers a set of pre-built Analytics templates for you to choose. To create a template from a pre-built template, select the template from the Start from a prebuilt template drop-down list.

  4. Click OK.

Editing dashboards

You can edit your dashboards by resizing and rearranging existing widgets and adding new widgets into them.

To edit your dashboard, click Edit.

An Add widget panel appears, which displays all the widget types that you can add to the dashboard.

Widgets

Select a widget type to open the list of available widgets under it. Add the required widget to the dashboard by selecting it from the widget list.

To resize widgets in the dashboard, drag the widget borders to the required size.

To rearrange widgets, select and drag them to the target area. The widgets automatically aligns to the grid when you place them.

To save your changes, click Save. To discard the changes, click Cancel.

To access the dashboard information and modify its privacy settings, click the Workspace Workspace icon icon and select Dashboard info.

After you create a custom dashboard, you can configure its privacy settings.

To share the read and write access to the dashboard with users within the same organization, set Share to On. To keep the dashboard private, set Share to Off.

Applying dashboard filters

Dashboard filters are applied on top of the filters that are already applied on the process in IBM Process Mining.

The method of applying dashboard filters might change depending on the widget you are using. For more information, see the Widgets topic.

To manage dashboard filters and IBM Process Mining filters, click Filters.

  • You can see the percentage of filtered cases and events.
  • Filters displays that dashboard filters that are applied to the dashboard. You can remove a dashboard filter by clicking the Delete icon. You can also save your current dashboard filters as a template.
  • Process Mining Filters displays the filters that are applied on the project.

You cannot remove the project filters in Analytics. To edit or remove project filters, you must go to to the Model tab.

  • You can apply previously created project filter templates as dashboard filters, without overriding your current dashboard filters. Not that you can use only one filter template at the same time.

Starting from IBM Process Mining 1.15.0, you can apply filter templates on individual widgets in the dashboard. To apply a filter template, select the required filter template from the drop-down list on the widget.
