Restarting services after a power outage

When you restart PowerVC and storage controllers after a power outage, start the storage controllers before starting the PowerVC management server.

Explanation

When PowerVC is started before registering storage controllers, these storage providers might be left in the Error or Critical state. The storage provider remains unusable until the Cinder service is restarted.

Resolution

Avoid restarting PowerVC services before the storage controllers are responsive. However, if you encounter this problem and the storage providers are in the Error or Critical state, then use the powervc-services command to stop and restart services.
