Restarting services after HMC is restarted
When you restart HMC that is already registered in PowerVC, all managed hosts under that HMC remain Error state on PowerVC user interface.
Explanation
When PowerVC is managing the HMC and the respective hosts and you restart the HMC, the hosts might be left in the Error state. The host remains in Error state until Nova service is restarted.
Resolution
To restore hosts into Active state after restarting the HMC, run one of the following commands on PowerVC:/opt/ibm/powervc/bin/powervc-services nova restartservice openstack-nova-compute-<hypervisor host name> restart
