Creating a network and mapping it to an SEA

Follow these steps to create a network and map it to a Shared Ethernet Adapter (SEA). The SEA must be created outside of PowerVC, but it does not have to be created before PowerVC is installed.

  1. Create a new SEA outside of PowerVC.
  2. Wait 5 minutes. In the background, PowerVC collects data and the new SEA is discovered and stored in the database.
  3. On PowerVC, create a new network on the same VLAN that the SEA was created on. The new SEA is selected by default.
