Injecting an SSH key

When deploying a virtual machine from PowerVC, you can specify an SSH public key to be injected during virtual machine activation. When logging into the deployed virtual machine via SSH, you can then use the accompanying private key, which eliminates the need for a password.

Follow these steps to work with SSH keys:
  1. From the user account menu, select Key Pairs and then import the public key, supplying a key pair name for later use.
    Note: Setting the key pair name as new is restricted.
  2. To inject the customized public key, specify it in the Key pair field while deploying a virtual machine.
  3. To delete a key, open the Key Pairs page, select a key and click Delete.
