Configuring PowerVM hosts managed by HMC
The following table summarizes the configuration tasks and requirements for the HMC managed hosts in your environment.
|Step||Task||Reference or recommendation|

|5.||Change the maximum number of virtual resources.||Changing the maximum number of virtual
It is recommended that you have at least 200 virtual resources available on the host for use by the Virtual I/O Server. This number enables you to have sufficient resources available on your hosts as you create and migrate virtual machines throughout your environment.
|6.||Change the logical-memory block size setting.||Changing the logical-memory block size
If you plan to migrate virtual machines, then the logical-memory block size should be the same on all of the hosts in your environment.
|7.||Create a virtual machine. If you already have a vSCSI-enabled virtual machine, you can add it to PowerVC instead.||Creating an image from ISO
You must create a virtual machine before you can manage and capture it for deployment in PowerVC. After creation, you can manage and capture it for deployment in PowerVC.
