Installing and uninstalling

This topic describes how to install PowerVC on your management server. Choose to install by downloading the product, or by installing from media. You must install and configure PowerVC operations manager before installing PowerVC.

Notes:
  • PowerVC does not support uninstalling the latest version of PowerVC from a system and installing an older version of PowerVC in the same system. For example, uninstalling of PowerVC 2.3.3 and installing PowerVC 2.2.1 or later in the same system is not supported.
  • You must run the powervc-health-check install command before you perform the install operation. For more information about the health check commands, see the powervc-health-check command in the CLI commands page.
  • Run the following command before you perform install or update operation to check whether all the repositories are accessible:
    RHEL
    yum clean all
yum makecache
