Planning for Pure Storage

PowerVC supports Pure Storage as an integrated driver. You can now add a Pure Storage driver by using the GUI and work with it.

Before working with Pure Storage

Step Details
Ensure that all host requirements are met. See Hosts.

Verify that your PowerVM® host and Fibre Channel card firmware are at the current levels, and update them if necessary.
Ensure that all system requirements for using the Pure Storage driver are met. See the Pure storage page in the OpenStack website for details.
Ensure that the Pure Object Data Manager(ODM) file is installed. See Install Pure ODM file for details.
Note: If you are upgrading to PowerVC version 2.2.1 from PowerVC 1.4.3 or earlier, then remove Pure Storage and reregister.

Limitation

  • Virtual machine snapshot, restore and retype of volume are not supported.
