SEA is not selected in the Network details page after VIOS or firmware upgrade for an HMC managed host.

Problem

For the host managed by HMC, after the VIOS or firmware is upgraded, SEA is not selected by default in the Networks details page in the PowerVC UI. As a result, you might encounter network selection issues during VM deploy on that host.

Explanation

This problem can occur when for an HMC host, you create a network, and then for that host, you perform a VIOS or host firmware upgrade. When the same host becomes functional again, SEA is not selected by default in the SEA section of all the networks that the host is part of.

Resolution

In the PowerVC UI, navigate to the Network details page based on the host VLAN configuration and select the SEA manually, then click Save.
