Configuring anti-malware

From the Security page, you can configure anti-malware for a specific Red Hat Enterprise Linux® Server, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, or AIX® endpoint.

PowerSC includes anti-malware support for ClamAV, which is an open-source antivirus engine for detecting trojans, viruses, malware and other malicious threats. ClamAV moves or copies any detected malware to the quarantine directory on the PowerSC uiAgent, with a time-stamped prefix, and nullifies the file permissions to stop it from being opened or used.

Important: ClamAV is not included with PowerSC. You must first install it on uiAgents before you can use it with the PowerSC GUI.

Due to compatibility concerns, only specific versions can access the ClamAV virus definition databases. See Version Support Matrix for supported versions.

You can use the PowerSC GUI to configure ClamAV on PowerSC GUI agents that are running Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, or AIX.
