Installing memory in the 8408-44E or 8408-E8E system
To install memory in the 8408-44E or 8408-E8E system, complete the steps in this procedure.
Installing memory is a nonconcurrent procedure and requires the 8408-44E or 8408-E8E system to be powered off.
Before you install a feature, ensure that the software that is required to
support the feature is installed on your system. For information about software prerequisites, see
the IBM® Prerequisite website. If the required software is not installed,
see the following websites to download it, and then install it before you continue:
- To download system firmware updates, software updates, and fix packs, see the Fix Central website.
- To download Hardware Management Console (HMC) updates and fixes, see the Hardware Management Console Support and downloads website.
If your system is managed by the Hardware Management Console (HMC), use the HMC to complete the steps for installing memory in the system. For instructions, see Installing a part by using the HMC.
