Removing and replacing the expanded function disk drive backplane for the 5148-22L, 8247-21L, 8247-22L, 8284-21A, or 8284-22A

If you do not have an HMC, complete the following steps to prepare to remove and replace the expanded function disk drive backplane:

Note: The SAS YO cable that is used to attach a 5887 disk drive enclosure, an ESLL storage enclosure, or an ESLS storage enclosure to the rear SAS ports of the system model 8247-21L, 8247-22L, 8284-21A, or 8284-22A must not exceed the maximum supported length of 3 m (9.8 ft).
