You can use the Integrated Virtualization Manager to
create a virtual disk on your managed system. Virtual disks are also known
as logical volumes.
To create a virtual disk, complete the following steps in the Integrated Virtualization Manager:
- In the navigation area, select View/Modify Virtual Storage under Virtual
Storage Management. The View/Modify Virtual Storage
page is displayed.
- On the Virtual Disks tab, click *Create
Virtual Disk. The Create Virtual Disk page is
displayed.
- Enter a virtual disk name, select a storage pool, and enter a size
for the new virtual disk and click OK. Integrated Virtualization Manager creates the new virtual disk
with your specifications, and the View/Modify Virtual Storage page is displayed.
- Repeat this procedure for each virtual disk that you want to create.
- To view or modify the properties of any virtual disks that you
created, see Modifying virtual disks.
These steps are equivalent to using the mkbdsp command
in the command-line interface.
If there is not enough disk space for
the virtual disk, increase the size of the default storage pool. For instructions,
see Modifying storage pools using the Integrated Virtualization Manager
