Checking for a duplicate IP address

Use this procedure to check for a duplicate IP address.

To check for a duplicate IP address, complete the following steps:

  1. On the Hardware Management Console (HMC), right-click the desktop and select terminal > rshterm.
  2. At the terminal, issue this command: lssyscfg -r sys -F "name,ipaddr" A list of managed systems' names and their IP addresses (or host names) is displayed.
  3. Check to see if there are duplicate IP addresses.
