Setting the IP address in Windows Vista

To set the IP address within Windows® Vista, complete these steps.

  1. Click Start > Control Panel.
  2. Ensure Classic View is selected.
  3. Select Network and Sharing Center.
  4. Select View status in the Public network area.
  5. Click Properties.
  6. If the security dialog appears, click Continue.
  7. Highlight Internet Protocol Version 4.
  8. Click Properties.
  9. Select Use the following IP address.
  10. Complete the IP address, Subnet mask, and Default gateway fields by using the values in step 4 from Accessing the ASMI using a Web Browser.
  11. Click OK > Close > Close.
