Service processor cable

Use this information to replace the service processor cable.

  1. Power off the system and remove the power cords:

    Power off the system and remove the power cords:

    1. Before continuing ensure the device is not being used by the customer.
    2. If possible, shut down any running applications and the operating system before powering off the system.
    3. After the system is powered off, remove all power cords from all of the processor enclosures, starting with the primary processor enclosure (topmost) and then each secondary enclosure, working from top to bottom.
     
  2. Remove the Service Processor Cable
    1. Grasp the service processor cable handle on one system unit and pull it from the system unit.
    2. Repeat the process for the other system unit.

  3. Install the Service Processor Cable
    1. Align the pins on the back of the service processor cable handle with the alignment holes on the back of one of the system units.
    2. Using the handle, push the cable connector in place.
    3. Repeat the process for the other system unit.

  4. Install the power cords

    If you removed the power cords, reinstall the power cords for all of the processor enclosures.

    Install the cords in the following order:

    1. Secondary 2
    2. Secondary 3
    3. Primary
    4. Secondary 1
  5. Verify the repair
