Remove the control panel

You might need to remove the control panel from the server. Use the procedure in this section to perform this task.

To remove the control panel, complete the following procedure:

  1. Perform the prerequisite tasks described in Before you begin.
  2. Stop the system. Refer to Stop the system or logical partition.
  3. Disconnect the power source from the system by unplugging the system.
  4. Place the 7037-A50 in the service position or ensure that you can access cover for the 7047-185. Refer to Place the system in the service or operating position.
  5. Open the service access cover. Refer to Remove the covers and choose from the configuration type that matches your system.

  6. Remove the front bezel. Refer to Remove the bezel.
  7. Press the release button A on the front of the control panel.
    Note: The model 7037-A50 control panel is mounted vertically, but the procedures for removing and replacing the control panel are identical.

  8. Pull the control panel away from the system until it stops.
  9. Disconnect the control panel signal cable D from the back of the control panel C.

  10. Press the tabs E on both sides of the control panel to release the control panel from the chassis.

  11. Pull the control panel out from the system.
