This procedure provides step-by-step instructions that explain
how to verify the partition mobility environment using the Hardware Management
Console (HMC).
Before you begin
To verify the partition mobility environment, you must be a super
administrator.
About this task
To verify the partition mobility environment using the HMC, complete
the following steps:
- In the navigation area, open Systems Management.
- Select Servers.
- In the navigation area, select the source server.
- Select the mobile partition and expand Operations >
Mobility > Validate. The Partition Migration Validation
window is shown.
- In the validation panel, select the destination server and select Validate.
- The panel will be populated with suggested validation data.
- Review the available virtual SCSI and virtual LAN settings on the
destination system.
- You may change the default settings of the Mover Service Partition
(This is only valid for an active partition migration.)
- Click Validate to confirm that the changed
settings are still acceptable for migration. If there are any errors, the
error dialog panel will appear.
