Use this information to upgrade from one IBM® eServer™ i5 or System i® model, hardware feature, or i5/OS® release to a new or another IBM System i5® or eServer i5 model, hardware feature, or i5/OS release. In an upgrade, the target model retains the same serial number as the source model. If you are moving to a new model with a different serial number, use the procedures in Data migration.
