MAP 5000

Use this MAP to resolve the following problem: The disk has failed and must be replaced.

  1. Access a root shell prompt on any of the I/O nodes of the cluster.
  2. Run the following command to release the carrier by using the recovery group name and location codes shown in the error log. If multiple location codes are given, they must refer to disks in the same carrier.

mmchcarrier RecoveryGroupName --release --location "location-code1;location-code2;... "

This command unlocks the disk carrier.

  3. Pull out the carrier. This action switches on the indicator lights of the disks given in the previous command. These lights are powered by a supercapacitor and continue to be switched on after the carrier has been removed.
  4. Replace the disks with disks of the same FRU part number.
Note: Select the force flag to override the FRU part number.
  5. Replace the carrier.
  6. Run the following command to complete the disk replacements:

    mmchcarrier RecoveryGroupName --replace --location "location-code1;location-code2;..."
