You can view and change the shared memory pool configuration by using the Hardware Management Console (HMC). The
Active Memory Sharing is not supported on Power10
processor-based systems.
Procedure
To change a shared memory pool, complete the following steps:

In the navigation pane, click System resources.

Click Systems. In the work pane, click a system of your choice. The
System settings page is displayed.
- In the navigation pane, click Shared memory pools.
The
Create Shared Memory Pool wizard opens to the Welcome
page. If the Shared Memory Pool already exists, the Modify Shared Memory Pool
wizard opens.
- Click Next.
- In the General page, you can view and change the shared memory
pool size. Click Next.
- In the Paging VIOS page, you can associate one or more paging VIOS
partition to the shared memory pool. Click Next.
- In the Paging Space Device(s) page, the table lists the paging
space devices that are currently assigned to the shared memory pool. Choose one of the following
steps:

To allocate more devices to the memory pool, click Select Devices.
- To remove a device from the memory pool, click Remove.
- Click Next. The Summary page displays the
size of the shared memory pool, the maximum size of the pool, the paging VIOS assigned to the pool,
and the paging space devices that are assigned to the pool.
- Click Finish to apply the changes to the shared memory
pool.
