Using the HMC to view the existing firmware levels

Learn how to view the level of firmware that currently runs on your server by using the HMC.

Procedure

  1. Is the HMC Version 10.1.1020.0, or earlier?
    • Yes: Continue with the next step.
    • No: The HMC Version is 10.2.1030.0, or later. Continue with step 3.
  2. To navigate to the View current system firmware levels window by using HMC Version 10.1.1020.0, or earlier, complete the following steps:
    1. In the navigation area, click Resources, and then select All Servers.
    2. Select the server for which you want to view system information.
    3. In the menu pod, expand System Actions and then expand Update Firmware.
    4. Continue with step 4.
  3. To navigate to the View current system firmware levels window by using HMC Version 10.2.1030.0, or later, complete the following steps:
    1. In the navigation area, click System Resources > Systems.
    2. Select the system.
    3. In the menu pane, select Firmware > View current system firmware levels.
    4. Continue with the next step.
  4. Record the level that appears in the EC Number field and the Activated Level field. For example, if the EC Number is 01UL910 and the Activated Level is FW910.0(021), the firmware level is FW910.00 (UL910_021).
