You can use the Advanced System Management Interface (ASMI) to configure Runtime
Processor Diagnostic (RPD) Test Policy.
Before you begin
To perform this operation, you must have one of the following authority levels:
- Administrator
- Authorized service provider (celogin)
About this task
When the Runtime Processor Diagnostic Test Policy option is enabled, it
allows the RPD to run and test the processor cores based on the options that are selected from the
Policy testing list.
Note: When you choose to run the test immediately, the current policy setting is ignored but not
changed, and the test runs sequentially on all the processor cores in the system. This feature is
available only when the system is powered on.
To enable or disable the Runtime Processor Diagnostic Test option,
complete the following steps:
Procedure
-
On the ASMI Welcome page, specify your user ID and password and click
Log In.
-
In the navigation area, expand System Configuration.
-
Click Runtime Processor Diagnostic Test.
- From the Policy testing list, select one of the following options:
- Disabled: The test never runs except when you run the test
immediately.
- Staggered: The test is run once on every processor core in the platform
over a period of 24 hours. This option is the default setting.
- Periodic: The test runs during a specified window of time, sequentially
through all the processor cores in the system, starting at the Scheduled Time of
Day and running for the duration time, which can between 30 minutes and 24 hours.
| Duration: This option is used only when the value of the
Policy testing option is set to Periodic. The
Duration value represents the duration in minutes to run the processor
diagnostics, starting at the Scheduled Time of Day. |
Note: If the RPD is unable to test all the processor cores within the specified runtime duration,
the testing during the next specified window resumes where the testing was left off.
- From the Deconfigure on failure list, select
Enable, or Disable.
Note: Enabling the Deconfigure on failure option guards the resource when the
RPD test fails. This option is enabled by default.
- Click Save settings.
