Prefetch Settings
You can use the Advanced System Management Interface (ASMI) to enable or disable the aggressive prefetch option.
About this task
Power® 10 systems have prefetch settings that can be tuned. You can use this task to enable aggressive prefetching by the Power 10 processor core. Enabling this option increases the amount of prefetching from the CPU.
To perform this operation, you must have one of the following authority levels:
- Administrator
- Authorized service provider (celogin)
Note: The Aggressive prefetch option can be enabled or disabled when the
system is in the FSP standby state.
Important: By default this setting is disabled. Enable this setting
only if recommended by solution vendor.
To enable or disable the aggressive prefetch option, complete the following steps:
Procedure
- On the ASMI Welcome pane, specify your user ID and password, and click Log In.
- In the navigation area, expand System Configuration.
- Click Prefetch Settings.
- From the Aggressive Prefetch list, select Enabled or Disabled.
- Click Save settings.
