PMT Field Definitions
This document lists all of the fields in the Training Provider Asset form with definition, usage including maximums and other information to assist the requester in completing the form. The Asset Reviewers will not fix any spelling or grammatical issues or format any fields in these requests. Their role is to review the request and either decline it, or approve it to publish it.
Top section of form
Asset Title
125 characters, alphanumeric. The following special characters are allowed: Apostrophe, Dash, Colon, Period, Comma, Exclamation point, question mark, slashes, parenthesis, or brackets.
Asset Codes
The Asset Codes, commonly called course codes are auto-generated. Asset codes are eight characters long and end in a G. The Global Training Providers (GTP) have a unique two digit prefix starting with "Ux". The Authorized Training Providers (ATP) have a unique three digit prefix starting with "Vxx".
Delivery Method
Values include Instructor-led (classroom), and Instructor-led Online (Online), Self-paced, and Self-paced (w/labs). Combination are allowed, however only one digital method can be selected. A digital self-paced course either has labs or it doesn’t.
Cost Associated?
This will always be set to Yes which is why it’s greyed out.

Basic Information section
Asset Visibility
Available values: External or No Advertising At This Time
- “External” means it’s searchable from the IBM Training website, vendors can submit your schedule, and learners can enroll.
- “No Advertising At This Time” means it’s not searchable from the IBM Training website, no schedule can be submitted, and no one is allowed to enroll.
Duration
The total amount of time for content delivery or consumption. This field should be an integer and allow one decimal level and requires a minimum duration of 0.5.
Instructor Skill Level
For instructor-led offerings, this level must be equal to or higher than the Learner Skill Level. This is the knowledge level required of the instructor to be able to properly train this course.
Available values: Basic, Intermediate, Advanced
Learner Skill Level
This is the exiting knowledge level of the learner. What level will they have once they have completed this course?
Available values: Basic, Intermediate, Advanced
Comments
This field should be used to clarify the asset record that can assist the reviewer in determining if they will approve the request. It can also be used to make any notes that will help someone else from your enterprise should you not be available.
Contact section
Asset Creator
Individual who created the course record and is auto generated.
Asset Creator email
Individual’s email who created the course record and is auto generated.
Support Ticket Contact
The contact focal point for any tickets opened by learners. Vendors provide first level of support. This field is who the IBM help desk will contact for assistance with the support ticket. If your company has a functional ID/group email it can be used if it is actively monitored.
Detailed Description section
Short Summary
This course description should be a short summary of what is being taught and the audience the course is intended for, in a way to promote the course. This field is displayed on IBM Training search results under the Course Title. This field is limited to 200 characters.
Overview Description
This field describes your learning asset for a potential learner. It provides details about the objective and purpose of the course and provides guidelines and tips for succeeding in the course. This field displays on the course description page on IBM Training. This field is limited to 500 characters.
Objectives Description
This field identifies the learning objectives or skills a learner will glean from completing this course. This field displays on the course description page on IBM Training.
Audience
Who is the target audience for this learning asset? This text field can be used to add a sentence or two with a list of specific job roles who would benefit from this training.
Job Family
This is the job role family, which is a higher level than a job role/audience, to which the content associated with this course. These are based upon an industry study for those products sold by IBM.
Keywords
In addition to the Course Title, course code, and short summary, what other words, acronyms and phrases will a learner use to find this course? The keywords are associated with this course are comma delimited and a maximum of 500 alphanumeric characters.
Business Unit Details section
Business Unit
This identifies the IBM business unit to which the content is aligned. It also will determine which Asset Reviewer will receive the request for review and publishing of the asset to the catalog.
Brand
This identifies the IBM product team that supports the content within the business unit. The Brand drop down only display the brands associated with a particular business unit. DO NOT select a brand that starts with PW, the “PW <Business Unit> Tech Sales” brands do not have any reviewers as training providers shouldn’t be creating content for IBM Business Partners.
Product (DCC)
The IBM product to which the content is aligned. If it's not aligned to an IBM product or is technology based then select Non-product Education.
Asset Reviewer
This is the IBMer who will be reviewing the asset and will either approve or decline the request. GTPs should select Chris Wetli and ATP should select James Collier and/or Gayle Batty.

GTP offering type
Values available: GTP Derivative Work or GTP owned
When GTP Derivative Work is selected then two fields appear:
Is this course derived from one or more IBM courses?
Create a drop down that presents the vendor with any asset that is 'Published' and 'Retired - Unsupported'. Select all that apply.
Summarize the changes made to the original course
Describe how this course is 30% or more unique from the IBM course asset. This field has a minimum 125 and a maximum of 1,000 characters.
GTP authorized to teach
Select all vendors(s) that are allowed to teach this course.
Owning GTP
Select the vendor who owns this course.
Terms & Conditions
Review the statement and select Yes or No.

ATP Creator will only see Terms & Conditions on this tab.

Lifecycle Status
This is the stages of course record of the overall life of the asset. The flow is Draft -> Published -> Retired: End of Life or Retired: Unsupported. Auto generated
Publish Date
The date the course record was approved by the Asset Reviewer. Auto generated
Create Date
The date in which the course record was first saved (Saved or Submit for Approval)
Retire Date
The date in which the course is to retire. When the retire date is reached, the course will no longer show up in the catalog on IBM Training. The standard 18-month business rule is applicable and automatically inserted as the retire date. The calculation is based on the publish date. If it needs to be retired sooner, update the published record, and submit it. NOTE to GTPs, IBM courses can no longer be delivered if the status is Retired - End of Life. Courses that retire as Retired - Unsupported can still be delivered, however IBM will not support them and support tickets can not be opened against the course.
This is the first release of the Training Provider asset form. To request a retire date be extended or pulled in please open a Service Now ticket at https://ibmcpsprod.service-now.com/its. Include the asset code, asset title, along with the new retire date and reason for the change.
Last Modified date
The date in which the course was last modified in PMT.
Last Modified by
Person who last modified the course entry in PMT.
Additional Fields
Workflow Status
This represents the stages of the course record is in the registration process. The flow is Draft -> Pending approval -> Approved or Not approved.
This field is displayed on the Manage Assets view and in the top right corner of the asset record.
Do Not Approve reason
This field will display in a pop-up modal to the reviewer if they click the Do Not Approve option. It’s a required field for the reviewer if they decline the request.
