The Planning Analytics Agent (formerly Planning Analytics AI assistant) is a conversational interface that enables administrators and users to interact with planning content by using natural language.
The Planning Analytics Agent is a platform capability that integrates with Planning Analytics Workspace to support natural-language interaction with planning models, data, and visualizations.
The agent operates within the existing Planning Analytics security context and uses the same models and data that are available in Planning Analytics Workspace.
How the Planning Analytics Agent fits into Planning Analytics
Planning Analytics Agent is available in Planning Analytics Workspace and complements existing interaction methods such as explorations, visualizations, and books.
Planning Analytics Agent does not replace existing user interfaces or modeling tools, but provides an extra way to interact with planning content by using conversational input.
In current releases, the Planning Analytics Agent can be available across multiple Planning Analytics perspectives. Availability and behavior depend on the active perspective and configuration. The agent evaluates requests within the context of the current perspective and can provide feedback when an action is not supported in that context.
Who uses the Planning Analytics Agent
Administrators are responsible for enabling, configuring, and managing access to the Planning Analytics Agent.
Administrators control whether the Planning Analytics Agent is available in an environment and which users can access it.
Depending on the deployment model, the agent can be configured by using an IBM-managed watsonx Orchestrate service or integrated with a custom watsonx Orchestrate instance.
Users can interact with the Planning Analytics Agent in Planning Analytics Workspace to explore planning data, request AI-generated insights, and perform supported actions by using natural-language commands.
Scope and limitations
The Planning Analytics Agent is available only in supported Planning Analytics environments and within supported Planning Analytics Workspace perspectives and contexts.
The agent operates within the permissions of the signed-in user and does not provide access to data or actions that the user is not authorized to perform.
Licensing and availability
The Planning Analytics Agent requires a separate license and is not included with a standard Planning Analytics license.
