Single cell

Use the single cell visualization to highlight the value of a selected cell or to enter data to this cell.

Important: Keep in mind, when you enter or delete data in a single cell visualization, the data in the associated cube view is also updated.

If you are using Planning Analytics Workspace 2.0.90 or a later version, you cannot delete data in a single cell widget with the Delete key but you can still modify the data or clear the data to return a 0. You can also delete the single cell widget itself.

You can create a single cell visualization and convert it to a view (exploration) or another visualization and vice versa. When you convert another visualization or view to single cell, the visualization displays data from the first cell.
You can add a single cell visualization to your book from Visualizations and drag a cube or view on to the template. You can also create a single cell visualization by right-clicking a view and selecting Add to sheet.
Note: Unless you select a specific cell in the view, when you add a single cell visualization with this method, the visualization displays data from the first cell in the view.

You can change the single cell visualization through the properties under the Properties and Fields tabs. Select the single cell visualization and go to the Fields tab to view and change dimensions and filters. Under the Properties tab, you can change the color palette for any conditional rules that are applied to the visualization and enable automatic refresh.

You can change the Fill color of Single Cell widgets. Select the single cell visualization and go to the Properties tab. Under the General tab, click Appearance to see the Fill color options.

You can also change the text alignment of single cell visualization. Right-click the visualization to see cell alignment and other formatting options.

In Planning Analytics Workspace 2.0.92, the Show as cell property for single cell widgets was updated to control only the display of an outline around values in single cell widgets. A new property, Enable editable cell, allows modification of values in single cell widgets. For more information, see Changes to single cell widget properties.
