Deploy a snapshot
After you create a snapshot, you can deploy it to a selected environment.
About this task
See Create a snapshot for information on creating a snapshot of assets.
Procedure
- Click the snapshot you want to deploy on the Snapshots tab of the Lifecycle Management home page.
- Click Deploy.
- Review the assets that will be deployed in the snapshot, then click Next.
- Select the folder (Personal or Shared) on
the target environment where the snapshot will be deployed.
If your snapshot includes plans or applications, you must deploy to the Shared folder.
- Enter the Folder name where the assets will be deployed on the
target environment.
The folder name you specify is created within either the Personal or Shared folder on the target environment, according to your selection in step 4.
- For Planning Analytics Workspace on Cloud, select the Target
tenant for the deployment. The snapshot is deployed on the tenant you select.
For Planning Analytics Workspace Local, there is no option to select a target tenant, as there is no tenancy in Planning Analytics Workspace Local.
- Click Next.
The Database mapping page shows the database mappings for databases used by assets in your source environment to databases on the target environment.
For Planning Analytics Workspace Local, the Database mapping page shows the databases associated with your assets mapped to the same database name.
For Planning Analytics Workspace on Cloud, the Database mapping page shows the pre-defined database mappings between your source and target tenants. If a database mapping is not defined for a database on your source environment, the same database name is used on the target tenant.
You can accept the database mappings as they are presented or you can modify them.
Note: You might see a warning icon next to a target database. This indicates that the database is not currently available on the target tenant. It's possible that the database is not running or has not yet been created. If you intend to start or create the database after deployment, you can proceed; the deployment will continue. If you do not intend to start or create the database after deployment, consider changing the mapping from the source tenant database to a database that is available on the target tenant.
- To change a mapping between a database on the source tenant and a database on the target
tenant, click
next to the target database and select a new database.
- Click Deploy.
