Navigate to another worksheet

You can use an action button to navigate to another worksheet in the same workbook, or to a worksheet in another workbook.

Procedure

  1. Create an action button. For more information, see Add to a worksheet.
  2. In the Action button properties dialog box, click the check box on the Navigate tab.
  3. Specify the target workbook.
    • To select a workbook on a TM1® server, click Websheets. Click Browse and select the workbook.

To use a cell reference or a named range for the workbook name, click Cell reference button. The referenced cell or named range must contain the path to the workbook. Start with the first folder name under Applications and use a back-slash \ character to separate folders. Do not include the Applications folder in the path. For example: Planning Sample\Bottom Up Input\Budget Input.

    • To select a workbook that is stored on your computer or on the network, click Files. Click Browse and select the workbook.
Note: If you plan to share your workbook with TM1 Web or IBM® Planning Analytics Workspace users, place the target workbook in a shared network location. The location that you specify must be accessible by the server where TM1 Web or IBM Planning Analytics Workspace is running.
  4. Specify the target worksheet.
You can use any of the following techniques.
    • Click the Sheet list and select a worksheet.
    • Enter the worksheet name in the Sheet field. Use the following format: =SheetName!Cell
    • Use a cell reference or a named range, click Cell reference button. Specify the cell reference or a named range, and then click OK.
  5. Set the following options.
    • Pass Context - Automatically matches and sets the text of the title dimensions in the target worksheet when a user clicks the action button. For more information, see Pass context option.
    • Replace Current Workbook - Determines whether the target worksheet opens in a new window or in the same window, replacing the source worksheet. For more information, see Replace Current Workbook option.
  6. To map items, click Advanced options.
For more information, see Map fields.
  7. If you want to set a calculation to occur after the process runs, toggle the Post Action Calculations option, and then select the type of calculation from the drop-down menu.
    • Automatically recalculate sheet - Refreshes the data in the current worksheet.
    • Rebuild sheet - Rebuilds the TM1 Dynamic Report to its original report definition configuration.
  8. Click Done.
