You can save a view as a Planning Analytics Workspace object or as a view in a
Planning Analytics database.
About this task
When you save a view as a separate Planning Analytics Workspace object, you can share the view
with other people, and reuse the view in other Planning Analytics Workspace books.
You can also choose to save a view to the Planning Analytics database. When a view is saved to the database, it can be
used by processes as a data source from which you can extract data and create or update objects or
data.
Procedure

Click anywhere on the view to select it.
- Click the Save icon
on the view toolbar.
- Choose the Save option.
- Save
- If the view was previously saved as a Planning Analytics Workspace object, use this option to
update the view definition.
- Save view as
- If the view was not previously saved, use this option to save it as a Planning Analytics Workspace object. If the view was
previously saved, use this option to save it as a new object.
- Enter a Name for the view and choose the location where you want to save
the view, either the Shared folder or your Personal
folder.
- Save to database
- Use this option to save the view to the Planning Analytics database. Views saved to the database can be used only in Planning Analytics for Excel, Planning Analytics
Workspace, and as a process datasource.
- Select the Private option if you want to save the view as a private view
that is available only to yourself. If the Private option is not selected,
the view is saved as Public and it is available to any user who has at least
read access to the cube that contains the view.
- Select the Native option if you want to save the view as a TM1 native
view. If the Native option is not selected, the view is saved as
MDX.
