Customizing colors of selected and highlighted cells

Choose colors in the Selection styles section to customize the format of selected and highlighted cells. You can pick a custom color for the background and the border of the cells. You can also select a transparent background color, which allows you to view the original color of the active cells without overwriting the colors.

Customize the color of the background and the border of any cell that you select and any highlighted cell that is associated with the selected cells. If you select the background color to be transparent, selecting or highlighting the cells does not change the original background color of these cells.

To customize the format of selected and highlighted cells, follow these steps:

  1. Select a view and click Format manager in the toolbar.
  2. Click Data area on the View tab.
  3. Under Selection styles, choose the colors you want for Selected background, Selected border, Highlighted background, and Highlighted border.

To keep the original cell colors of the selected and highlighted cells, select transparent (no color) as the color for Selected background and Highlighted background.

  4. Click Apply.
