Applying cell holds in Universal Reports

You can apply cell holds to cells in the data range of Universal Reports and Universal Report static layouts in IBM® Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel.

You can exclude cells in Universal Reports and Universal Report static layouts from data spreading by applying a hold to a single cell or a range of cells. Right-click the cell or range of cells that you want to apply the hold to and select Holds. To release a hold, select Release holds.

Note: Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel does not support the ability to release all holds from the cube.

Each held cell has a visual indication that you applied a hold to that cell or range. Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel uses the Hold Values - IBM Cognos named style to apply a style to the held cells to indicate a hold is active. For more information about the supported cell indicators, see Cell indicators for Universal Reports in Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel.

Note: Unlike Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel, TM1 Web does not use the Hold Values - IBM Cognos named style for cell holds. TM1 Web uses its own cell indicator styling. For more information about the supported cell indicators in TM1 Web, see Cell indicators in TM1 Web Universal Reports.
