Moving from IBM TM1 Perspectives to IBM Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel

If you are coming from using IBM® TM1® Perspectives, you will notice some differences and improvements in IBM Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel.

Note: Some features might not work when Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel and IBM TM1 Perspectives are enabled together in Microsoft Excel.

It is also important to note that Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel is a reporting environment and not a TM1 development environment. The creation of cubes, dimensions, subsets, rules, TurboIntegrator processes are not supported in Planning Analytics for Excel. Instead, the Planning Analytics Workspace modeling workbench provides full TM1 modeler capabilities in a modern architecture.

TM1 Perspectives Server functions and other server management capabilities are available in Planning Analytics Workspace Administration and in the modeling workbench.

Note: Only Planning Analytics Administrators and Modelers have access to Planning Analytics Workspace Administration and the modeling workbench.
