Accessibility features
People with limited vision can use screen-reader software, along with a digital speech synthesizer, to listen to what is displayed on the screen in TM1 Web. TM1 Web also includes accessibility features to help you perform tasks by using only a keyboard. These features include keyboard navigation and keyboard access to menus and dialog boxes that are related to websheets.
Note: The accessibility features described here are independent of browser
accessibility. TM1 Web websheets support the accessibility features available in the Firefox
browser. However, you should not enable any accessibility features in Chrome when using TM1
websheets. Enabling accessibility features in Chrome (chrome://accessibility/) can result in
performance degradation.
- You can tab to all fields on the TM1 Web login page. The Down arrow reveals the TM1 server menu. You can use the Down and Up Arrow keys to navigate in the menu. You can use the Space bar to select from the menu. You can use the Space bar or Enter to refresh selections or select and clear check boxes. You can use the Space bar or Enter to click a button.
- On the banner, you can use the tab key to get to the About element. Press Enter to open the About dialog box. Tab to the X and use the Enter key to close the About dialog box. On the banner, you can also tab to Help or Log Out. Press Enter to open the help documentation in a new tab or press enter to log out.
- In the Navigation pane, you can use the Space bar to select a node, the Right arrow to expand nodes, the left arrow to collapse nodes, and the Up and Down arrows to move between nodes.
- On the toolbar, you can use the Right and Left arrow to move between elements. You can use the Space bar to click a button. When a toggle button is in focus, the space bar activates or deactivates the button. The copy and paste functions are not accessible from the toolbar; however, you can copy and paste from the context menu in a cell. All other actions on the toolbar can be triggered by pressing the Space bar.
- In the Content pane, context menus are accessed by using Shift+F10. The Up Arrow and Down Arrow keys select items from within the context menu.
- To expand or collapse a column or row in a websheet, you can use the Space bar.
- To access the Subset editor, you can use the Arrow keys to navigate to a cell that has an
element selector and then use the Space bar to open the element selector. The Tab key moves you
between the search, the Arrow keys, and the tree. Tab to the bottom of the element selector to the
Open subset editor icon
and then press the Space bar to open the Subset editor.
- In the Subset editor, Up Arrow and Down Arrow keys move you between items in the tree. The Enter
key selects the focused item in the tree. You can also multi-select elements in the tree.
- Go to the first element that you want to select.
- Press Enter.
- Press the Down Arrow until you reach the last item that you want to select.
- Press Shift+Enter.
- In warning, error, and information dialog boxes, you can use the Tab key to navigate between buttons. You can use Insert+b to read the contents of the dialog box.
- In other dialog boxes, you can use Tab to navigate and Shift+Tab to navigate backwards. You can use Up and Down arrows to navigate between radio buttons and the Space bar to select and clear check boxes. You can use the Space bar or the Enter key to click buttons.
Note: When you access the set selector, if you press Esc to exit after you make changes, you lose
your focus on the cell that you originally launched from. You are focused on the main page.
