Installing Planning Analytics Core Financial Applications on Planning Analytics on Cloud

Follow these instructions to install the Planning Analytics model and the Planning Analytics Workspace interface on Planning Analytics on Cloud.

Before you begin

The following prerequisites are required:

  • Planning Analytics Cloud environment that was provisioned by IBM.
  • The user-installer is also an administrator for the environment.

About this task

The following Planning Analytics Financial Applications model archives are available for Windows. These archives, along with the Planning Analytics Workspace archives, are downloaded from IBM Passport advantage when you purchase Planning Analytics Core Financial Applications.

  • IBM_PA_Demand_Supply.zip
  • IBM_PA_Project.zip

The following Planning Analytics Workspace archives are available:

  • IBM_PA_Financial.gz
  • IBM_PA_Adv_WorkForce.gz
  • IBM_PA_Demand_Supply.gz
  • IBM_PA_Project.gz

Procedure

  1. Install the Planning Analytics Financial Applications model.
    1. Log on to Planning Analytics using the URL that was provided by IBM in the Welcome Kit.
    2. Click the Administration tile.
    3. On the Administration page, and click the Databases tile.
    4. Click Create.

      This action creates an empty database in the environment where the Planning Analytics model will be hosted.

    5. Depending on the application that you are installing, enter one of the following names:
      • IBM_PA_Financial
      • IBM_PA_Adv_WorkForce
      • IBM_PA_Demand_Supply
      • IBM_PA_Project
    6. Click Create. It will take a few minutes to create the database.

    7. Once the Status is changed to Started, click Stop to take the database offline.

      At this point, it is only an empty database, and the next step is to install the application.

    8. Wait until the Status is changed to Stopped before proceeding.
    9. Navigate to the \\data\s folder, and create a folder named application_name zip.
    10. Place the relevant Planning Analytics Financial Applications model archive in the newly created folder, and extract the archive in this folder.

      The tm1xfer utility is included with a Planning Analytics installation and is located in the <pa_install_dir>\bin64 (Windows) or <pa_install_dir>/bin64 (Linix) directory. To extract the archive with the tm1xfer utility, run this command:

      <pa_install_dir>\bin64\tm1xfer.cmd <model_archive_name.zip>

    11. Copy the unzipped folder to \\data\s\prod.

      You will be asked if the existing folder should be replaced. Accept the override and replace the folder that exists in the prod folder.

    12. Go back to the Administration page and click the Databases tile.
    13. On the Databases page, select the database for the application being installed.
    14. Click Start to bring the database back online.
    15. Once the Status is changed to Started, proceed to the next step.
  2. Install the Planning Analytics Workspace interface.
    1. On the Administration page, click the Lifecycle management tile.
    2. Click the Upload icon Import icon.
    3. Drag the Planning Analytics Workspace file IBM_PAW_solution_name.gz into the designated area, and click Import. A message appears if the import is successful.
    4. Click Deploy.
    5. Click Next.
    6. In the Folder name section, for Folder name, enter one of the names below, as applicable for the solution being installed:
      • IBM_PAW_Financial
      • IBM_PAW_Adv_Work Force
      • IBM_PAW_Demand_Supply
      • IBM_PAW_Project

      For Select target environment, select either your production or non-production environment.

    7. In the Database mapping section, select the database with the same name as indicated on the left.

    8. Click Deploy.
    9. Click the Home icon, and then click Home.

    10. The Planning Analytics application is shown on the Home page.
