You need to configure an integration with an existing Watson Machine Learning model on
IBM watsonx.ai to enable Decision Optimization in Planning Analytics Workspace. This integration was
previously called IBM Cloud Pak for Data Platform.
Procedure

On the Planning Analytics Administration page, click the Integrations
tile.
- IBM watsonx.ai displays in the list of available integrations.
Click Add to add a new deployment.
- Specify a Service URL.
The Service URL identifies the Watson Data API endpoint to interact with to discover and
execute Decision Optimization jobs. This URL varies based on your locale. Examples include:
https://api.dataplatform.cloud.ibm.com and
https://api.eu-de.dataplatform.cloud.ibm.com.
- Specify an API Key.
The API Key, if you don't already have one, can be created in watsonx.ai through IBM Cloud
Identity and Access Management (IAM).
You can access IAM through the watsonx.ai menu, under Administration >
Access (IAM).
The detailed steps to create this key are provided in the Creating an IAM bearer token section of the Watson Data
API documentation.
- Set the Deployment Space ID.
The Deployment Space ID can be obtained from the Space GUID field of the
Manage tab for the deployment space that contains the Decision Optimization
jobs that you want to make available to your Planning Analytics users.
- Paste the SSL certificate into the SSL Certificate box.
The SSL Certificate (PEM) can be obtained from the browser. Most browsers have a lock icon beside
the URL that you can click on to view the certificate. Be sure to retain the -----BEGIN
CERTIFICATE-----
and -----END CERTIFICATE-----
portions of the certificate
when you pasted the certificate into the SSL Certificate box.
- Click Test connection.
- Once the test is successful, click Add to finish adding the
deployment.
- Toggle the deployment status to Active to enable it.
What to do next
You can configure multiple deployments of the IBM watsonx.ai integration. Click
Add or use the context menu of an existing deployment to duplicate it and
edit the relevant fields.
