Create the baseline forecast asset and set forecast details

When you initially create a baseline forecast, you must specify the Planning Analytics database and cube that provide the data from which the forecast is generated.

1. Click the Planning Analytics Workspace home menu, then click New > Baseline forecast.
   You can also create a baseline forecast from the Data and Models page. Click Create > Baseline forecast.
2. Select the Database that contains the cube from which you want to generate a forecast.
3. Select the Cube that contains the data you want to use as the basis of your forecast.
4. Specify whether you want the baseline forecast to be a univariate or multivariate forecast.
   • To specify a multivariate forecast, click the Univariate or Multivariate icon until it is green with the Multivariate label.
   • To specify a univariate forecast, click the Univariate or Multivariate icon until it is grey with the Univariate label.
5. Optionally, enter a Description of the forecast to help users understand the purpose of the forecast. The description is visible to other users when they open the baseline forecast asset from the Data and Models page..
6. Click Next.
