Planning Analytics Trial

IBM® Planning Analytics Trial provides you with the opportunity to use and experiment with some of the components and capabilities of IBM Planning Analytics, most notably Reports and Analysis and Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel.

There are some limitations and configuration requirements you should be aware of as a Planning Analytics Trial user.

Planning Analytics Workspace

These limitations apply to Planning Analytics Trial users.

Trial users cannot use Applications and Plans.
Trial users cannot use the modeling workbench to create and modify model objects such as dimensions, cubes, and rules.
Trial users can use Planning Analytics Administration to configure, monitor, and administer a Planning Analytics Workspace environment, but cannot create a new Planning Analytics database.

Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel

If you're using Planning Analytics Trial on Windows, you can download and install Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel.

When you first open Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel, you are asked to specify a Datasource type and a Connection URL.

Select IBM Planning Analytics as the Datasource type.
The Connection URL should be the same URL you use to access Planning Analytics Trial. In most cases, the URL is https://us-east-1.planninganalytics.saas.ibm.com/.
To confirm the URL, check the address bar on your web browser while logged in to Planning Analytics Workspace in Planning Analytics Trial.
