Customizing cell color in views based on data state

Use the Color cells by data state property for views to customize a cell color based on its data state. You can pick a custom background color for rule-derived cells and read-only cells, and even customize the color of sandbox values. The Color cells by data state property can be found in the Format manager, under Data area.

Important: The Color cells by data state property overrides any other background color set for the cell.

To enable the Color cells by data state property for a view and customize the background color of cells, follow these steps:

  1. Select a view and click Format manager in the toolbar.
  2. Go to the Data area on the View tab.
  3. Under Table styles, select Color cells by data state and choose the colors you want for Rule-derived background, Read-only background, and Sandbox font.
  4. Click Apply.
Note: Rule-derived cells include cells with rule-derived values, calculations, and set consolidations. The Color cells by data stateproperty does not apply to consolidated members.
