Import data or members from an ODBC source

You can now import data into a cube or members into a dimension using an ODBC data source. Previous version of Planning Analytics Workspace supported import only from a delimited text file.

When you initiate an import, you'll see a new Database connection option on the Data source menu.

When you select Database connection, you are prompted to select a connection and optionally provide authentication credentials. If the database supports Unicode, enable the Unicode option.

You can then specify a query to extract information from the database.

After you establish a connection and execute a query, the procedure to import members into a dimension is the same as for a delimited text file. See Import members for more information.
