TM1SetDropdownLimit

There is a new setting in the CognosOfficeReportingSettings file: TM1SetDropdownLimit.

The TM1SetDropdownLimit setting allows you to set a limit for the number of members in a set that are rendered in a TM1Set drop-down menu.

By limiting the amount of data that appears in a TM1Set drop-down menu, the performance of larger sets can be enhanced, since the amount of data being requested from the server is limited.

By default, the value of the TM1SetDropdownLimit setting is set to 500. You can set the value to any numeric value greater than 0. For any new values to be applied to a report, you must restart Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel.

The following image is a TM1Set drop-down menu with the TM1SetDropdownLimit value set to 9:

Note: If the selected member would be cut out of the TM1Set drop-down menu when a drop-down limit is applied, the selected member replaces the first member in the list when the report updates.

Known issue

There is a known issue with the TM1SetDropdownLimit setting when applying a new member to a cell from the set editor.

This issue occurs when the newly selected member is not currently included in your TM1Set drop-down menu list. When the new member is applied, the data in the cell is updated, but the TM1Set drop-down menu does not update to include the new member in the list.
