Set properties for a view
You can change the appearance of a view, change when data is refreshed, define the
synchronization scope, and allow access to the Set editor from the Properties
menu.
Procedure
- In Edit mode, click anywhere on the view.
- Click Properties.
-
Set the Custom properties for your view. The properties that you can set
depend on the type of view; explorations (table format) have different options to other kinds of
charts.
.
- Table style
- You can show or hide row and column headers.
- You can also add border lines or zebra stripes to the table.
- Set editor
- Enable the Allow access to Set editor option to allow users to access the Set editor from the view. Disable the option to prevent access to the Set editor. When you disable access to the Set editor, users cannot open the Set editor, but they can select from members of the current set.
- Exploration features
- You can choose whether to display or hide the following features for explorations:
- Show +/- on rows. Clearing this option removes the +/- indicator from row headers. This gives a more streamlined appearance, but you can't see if a member can be collapsed or expanded.
- Show +/- on columns. Clearing this option removes the +/- indicator from column headers.
- Indent row levels. Clear to remove indents from the row headers.
- Indent column levels. Clear to remove indents from the column.
- Color cells by data state. If selected, read-only cells are colored gray, and calculated cells are colored green. Clear this option to remove color.
- Bold consolidation. When enabled, consolidated values in the view display in bold.
- Allow consolidation type in. When enabled, you cannot type data into a consolidated cell. This option is set as a property of an individual exploration; if a book contains multiple explorations, the property can be set independently for each exploration.
- Responsive grid
- Responsive grid makes the view responsive to size changes. Enable the property to set a fixed number of columns and rows and the view displays the fixed number of columns and rows when you resize the grid.
- Toolbar
-
To manage which icons are available on the toolbar for you and your users, you can apply the Toolbar icon settings in the Properties panel. Click the Custom properties tab to view all the available Toolbar icons that you can set.
For a cube viewer, you can choose to display or hide the following toolbar icons:- Export
- Snap commands
- Save
- Format values
- Edit MDX
- Sandbox selection
- Change visualization
- Show/hide overview
- Forecast
For visualizations, you can manage the Save, Format values, Sandbox selection, and Change visualization toolbar icons.
For all other visualizations such as selector widgets, only the Change visualization toolbar icon is available to toggle.
- When you also select both a cube viewer and other visualizations in a book only the common toolbar icons are available.
