Updated Spread Data interface for Universal Reports
Learn about the new Spread data options and new spreading methods that are available only for Universal Reports in Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel.
This feature requires Planning Analytics Workspace 2.0.92 to work.
Important: (Local only) A known issue prevents using the Spread Data interface in
Universal Reports within Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel Local 2.0.92 when you are
connected to Planning Analytics Workspace 2.0.91 or earlier. For more information, see Known issue - Using the Spread Data user interface
in Universal Reports when connected to Planning Analytics Workspace 2.0.91.
There are new spreading methods available in the Spread data options page
for Universal Reports in Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel:
- The Straight line method populates cells by linear interpolation between
two specified points.
For example, if you have a start value of 100 and an end value of 200, the midpoint value would be 150.
- The Growth percent method takes an initial value as a starting point and sequentially increments all values in a selected range of cells by the specified percentage.
- The Relative proportional method spreads values to leaves of a consolidation cell proportional to the leaves of a reference cell. The reference cell can be in the cube from which you initiate spreading or in a different cube.
- The Relative percent adjustment method spreads values to the leaves (children) of a consolidation by applying a percentage adjustment to the leaves of a reference cell. The reference cell can be in the cube from which you initiate spreading or in a different cube.
